How can I contribute my own recipe?

To contribute a recipe on FlavorWise, you need to register. Go to the registration page, fill your information and create the account. Do not forget to activate your account. Ones you activate your account, go to the community home page. To share your recipe click on 'Share my recipe' button. You can add your recipe details on this page and save it. You can click on my 'MyRecipes' to view the recipes contributed by you.

What is a menu and how is it built?

A menu is a set of recipes that follow certain rules and go well together. The FlavorWise menu builder is the completely customizable tool that will help you build your own menu. On the 'Menus' page select your preferences and click on the 'Show Menus' button. The builder will show you 4 different menu options that will fit into your needs. The menu building algorithm uses your preferences, the metadata of the recipes and a complex logic to build these menus for you.

What is a grocery lists provided by FlavorWise?

On the menus page, each menu will have a link to its corresponding grocery list. This list is built dynamically for the menu depending upon the ingredients used in the recipes from the menu. The ingredients are added and converted to the standard units from all the recipes in that particular menu. This makes the grocery list fairly accurate. All the recipes in the menu are stored in a very specific customized format that makes this possible.

Why do I see the menu preferences after I finish registering?

FlavorWise menu builder builds menus for you that will serve your specific food preferences. If you save your menu preferences with FlavorWise, you will receive the ready-made built menus every week (upcoming feature!). These pre-built menus and the respective grocery lists can save you a lot of time. This is not a mandatory step and you can activate your account without saving your menu preferences.
